How we size a home solar system
We look at three things: your monthly electricity units, the shade-free area on your roof, and your budget. As a thumb rule, every 1 kW of solar produces about 4 units a day, or around 120 units a month. A family using 360 units a month is usually well served by a 3 kW system.

Types of home solar systems
On-grid: the most common choice. Lowest cost, and extra units are adjusted against your night-time use through net metering.
Hybrid: on-grid plus a battery, so key appliances keep running during a power cut.
Off-grid: runs on battery alone, for homes and farms with no reliable grid.

What size solar system does my home need?
Divide your monthly units by about 120 to get a rough size in kW. A home using 360 units a month usually needs around 3 kW. We confirm this with your last bills and your roof space.
What is the difference between on-grid, hybrid and off-grid solar?
On-grid systems send extra power to the grid and use net metering. Hybrid systems add a battery for backup. Off-grid systems run fully on battery and suit places without a reliable grid. Most homes in cities choose on-grid.
Can I install solar on a rented house or an apartment?
You need permission from the property owner or the society, and a roof or shared space where panels can be fixed. We can guide you on the paperwork at the survey.
Does the solar system work during a power cut?
A standard on-grid system switches off during a grid outage for safety. If you want power during cuts, you need a hybrid system with a battery.
